The Straw Construction Group (SCG) is dedicated to ensuring the safety of its employees. SCG wants all of its employees to go home to be with their families at the end of each work day. Workers are encouraged not to take shortcuts. Take the extra time to ensure that the work area is safe prior to commencing work in that area. In order to facilitate this, SCG works closely with the Ministry of Labour, The Infrastructure Health and Safety Association, Safecon Safety Group, Local 183, Local 793 and all of the Builders that it currently works with, to ensure that employees are provided with proper extensive safety training.
All SCG employees receive WHMIS and fall protection training at a minimum. A certified health and safety representative is assigned to each job site to ensure that all safety requirements are met at all times. Tool box talks and site inspections are carried out weekly by site foremen and health and safety representatives. All workers are encouraged to see safety. SCG preaches the Internal Responsibility System.
Straw Construction Group strives to regularly reinforce the importance of safety on the job site to all employees as we work together to try and mitigate workplace incidents.
